Out with the Old..... In With the New!

So, I was just wondering why we kiss each other at the Stroke of Midnight as a sign in for the new year. Is it because we want to affirm our warmth and love for each other for another 365 days? Or as one man suggested..that's why people drink prior to the stroke of Midnight.....
That way they will want to kiss their spouse. I thought that was funny. Where did that tradition start I wonder? Anyway, I do love starting a new year. A chance to start again and lose that hundred pounds, write that symphony, cure cancer. I just know that 2007 was one for the books and that 2008 has to be a great year! For you who have dealt with trials of health or pain, 2008 has to be your year. I know that many of you dedicated a good part of 2007 to pain and illness. Let's have a "do-over" in '08, It'll be great.

I myself love that for at least one day a year, everyone is trying to make good on the resolutions they just made. Mark Twain said:
"New Year's Day… now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual."

Happy New Year!

"Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right." Oprah Winfrey

I love that you quoted Mark Twain and Oprah. That makes me happy. Good luck in the next year. Don't make too many resolutions because you are already pretty much perfect!

I love that quote. I might frame it.

Wasn't Enchanted just fab? I wish I had been it 3 times. The park scene is the happiest ever. Going as blog friends would be a great time.

Happy New Year!
